MQ2 - Smoke & Gas Detector / Sensor Module
MQ2 is an analogue output sensor which is commonly used as combustible gas sensor in MQ sensor series. It is a Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) type gas sensor also known as Chemiresistors. The output voltage of the gas sensor increases if the concentration of gas increases. The sensitivity of the sensor is adjustable by the Potentiometer. The MQ2 sensor module is arduino compatible.
The working voltage of MQ2 gas sensor is 5 volt DC and it draws around 800 mW. This sensor is capable of detecting LPG, Smoke, Alcohol, Propane, Hydrogen, Methane and Carbon Monoxide concentrations anywhere from 200 to 10000ppm.
Applications:
MQ2 is used for detecting gas leakage in home office and industries.
The sensor module is suitable for detecting of LPG, i-butane, propane, methane ,alcohol, Hydrogen, smoke.
It is also used as electronic gas sensor module for education and science project.
